SPONSOR AN OPTIMIST

SUPPORT A NATIONAL SAILOR

RE: GIVE A CHILD THE EVERLASTING GIFT OF SAILING

For those of us who have experienced the freedom of sailing, the exhilaration of speed over the water, the sheer force of harnessing wind power, the skills and dexterity one learns coordinating sail, rope and tiller, and the thrill that competition brings pitting one’s self against the elements and fellow sailors...

This is what the Tanzania Optimist Dinghy Association (TODA) is promoting, by offering the new and upcoming sport of sailing to young Tanzanian children.  Skills which will last for a lifetime and could take them into International arenas as soon as 2012.

The attached leaflet tells you more about, who and what we are. Our goal is to take the “FIRST NATIONAL TANZANIAN SAILING TEAM” to the African Optimist Championships in 2012 which will be held here in Msasani Bay.

Currently, thanks to our supporters in 2010, we have 11 promising Tanzanian youth under training. For this on-going training program to succeed we are in urgent need of support for more boats, and we have therefore worked out the following offer to potential sponsors:

WE OFFER:

A brand new Optimist Dinghy branded with your company logo on the boat itself and on the sail.

This branding will be on display for a period of two years after which your supporter’s contract can be renewed. You will be welcome to name your boat which will remain for it’s entire life span. The boat will be donated to TODA and integrated into member’s fleets (i.e. Clubs) and be maintained accordingly. Your brand will appear in the member’s hall of fame at Dar es Salaam Yacht Club each year.

 WE ASK FOR:

A onetime donation of US $3,500.00 for a fully rigged dinghy.

Every two years, an additional US $500.00 to ensure that the boat is equipped with a new good quality sail and other necessary repair work and spares.

IN 2010, THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF CORAL RIDGE SPUR, TODA SENT FOR THE FIRST TIME A TANZANIAN NATIONAL TO THE WORLD OPTIMIST CHAMPIONSHIPS IN MALAYSIA.

YOU TOO CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

PLEASE HELP US TO GIVE A TANZANIAN CHILD

AN EVERLASTING GIFT OF SAILING!

Mr. Henrik Nielsen

Chairman
